Contemporary poetry often utilizes ordinary lexicon in a world that belongs to common men. The imaginary cosmos that she builds is neither related to its component nor to the systematics in which it’s constructed. Poet’s garden of words and references, blossoms experiences and fruits our lives,sighs and wishes.Ave’s prints and water-colors are of a world alike. Snapshots, some of chosen yet some of accidents; water and ink splashes on or under the prints are there to trigger audiences memories. His naked marvels, floral and petals, colorful atlases of the world and framed family portraits, even those of his own’s in Yazd, accidentally awakens a mnemonic fraction of one’s life and past and recalls an entry of the archive. Archeology and reliance on the encounter of similes makes this body of works a set of ‘chansons imaginaires’ . His works tend to divulge the oblivion; an oblivion whose things are neither forgotten nay in the light of remembrance.As a drop blasts a thing or two withers,or an image fades into paper. His world is the wax idol of his contemporary life and commonsense that melts under the sun and amalgamates. Fereydoun Ave’s “Divas” both addresses an era of fear and stability, having them referenced in “Haft Amshaspandan” and gigantic Sphinxes. Amesheh sepantah means blessed immortal and it manifests those supernatural and astral entities that translate themselves into a comprehensible version of themselves to be of men and to form a just principality in the ancient world. In seven sculptures that Ave presents in three different exhibitions by mixing a semiosis of wheels, corni, masks and skulls he builds a contemporary legion of Sphinxes where fear and security are nurtured in a parallel and equal fashion. As he names these creatures, he tends to encircle this dilemma/paradox nature of fear and immunity. “Diva” refers to “Dao”, “Deus”, “Dio” -as its a god that governs with fear that is more likely to be of circumstance. By the extinction of ancient beliefs Diva gained a new sense that is to be deceived. For Ave this is to emphasize this duality.
